How Much Does it Cost to Reset a Locked SCT Tuner?
- If you can prove you are the owner of the tuner and have proof your vehicle is totalled, they will unlock it for a fee. Perhaps you can go to the impound and reset it back to stock. That would work out better for everyone, including the recycler.
- The XML is easily visible on the files for the tuner, I have tried to figure out the hashing at the bottom of the xml I am curious if its information for a tune. What I am assuming is the tuner is reading the PCM of the truck properly, but the script only allows for the tunes that came with the Vortech Superchargers kit.
- SCT and Diablosport devices VIN lock (marries) to a single vehicle. You cannot use the device to tune a new or different vehicle until you have returned the original vehicle back to stock, which will unlock the device. You can only change vehicles 5 times before the unit is permanently locked.
Turns out to be I called the company and this handheld tuner can only be used on a single car at a time. If you were to use it on a different car, you need to bring back the vehicles PCM(computer) back to factory in order to unmarry the device and allow you. I downloaded the SCT Device Updater (before plugging in my device) and opened it. Unfortunately the car got totaled and the tuner was married to the VIN #. 95 Sct x4 unmarry hack Sct x4 unmarry hack. - If you had your vehicle's ECU/TCU/FICM replaced while tuned, there is no charge to unlock your device for as long as you have an invoice showing the vehicle has been flashed by a vehicle manufacturer dealer.
- If your vehicle has been deemed totaled while tuned, there is no charge to unlock your device for as long as you have an insurance statement or a police report.

If you would like to have a 'married' Predator, inTune, or Trinity completely reset so that it can be used to tune another vehicle, follow the instructions below:

- Call Us at 561-908-0040 x5 .
- Make sure you are at your desk with your tuner powered up on USB.
Note: The tool can be plugged into any vehicle with an OBD-II port (even if it is not a vehicle that is supported by the particular handheld you are using), a home computer with inTune and Trinity, or an AC wall adapter if you are using a Predator. - Simply give your name to the DiabloSport representative that answers the phone, and explain you need to purchase a tool unlock. He or she will explain the procedure from there.
